Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of CombDesk™ ("CombDesk", "the service", "we", "us" or "our"). CombDesk is operated by Sparxnovate B.V. on behalf of the CombDesk product family, with infrastructure and engineering services provided by Sparxnovate LLC. By using CombDesk, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The service

CombDesk is an intelligence search engine. It accepts questions, searches and reads sources, compares results, and returns an answer together with citations and follow-up paths. The service is provided for personal, professional and business research. We do not guarantee that any answer is complete, accurate, current or suitable for your specific situation.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal capacity in your jurisdiction, to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must use a valid email address that you control; accounts created with someone else's email address may be suspended. Business profile claims require verification through a matching work email domain.

3. Acceptable use

You may use CombDesk only for lawful purposes. You may not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, interfere with or abuse the service; use it to generate spam, malware, harassment, hate speech, or unlawful content; or circumvent any access controls, including copy restrictions placed on unsigned-out sessions. We may suspend or terminate access for violations without prior notice.

4. Intellectual property

CombDesk™, the Comb mark, the Comb Engine, CombDepth, and each named Comb are trademarks and service marks of Sparxnovate B.V. The CombDesk interface, code and branding are owned by Sparxnovate B.V. and its licensors. The answers CombDesk generates are provided for your own use; you may not resell, mass reproduce or represent them as original work created independently of the service.

CombDesk makes use of patented technology. A notice concerning U.S. Patent Nos. 9,026,521 and 9,235,642 is displayed on the home page and in relevant sections of the service.

5. Business Index and company claims

The CombDesk Business Index lists companies at different verification tiers: publicly listed companies validated through recognized exchanges; ordinary businesses registered as global combs that have not been independently verified by CombDesk unless they hold a valid CombValidateKey. A company profile may be "claimed" only by someone who can prove control of a matching work email domain. Approved claimants may edit the description, industry, category, location, website, products and markets. CombDesk-controlled fields, including the CombID, name, exchange, ticker, listing tier, validation key and verification state, may not be edited by claimants.

6. Disclaimers

CombDesk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Answers are produced automatically from third-party sources and may contain errors, omissions or outdated information. Always verify facts independently before making business, financial, legal, medical, travel or other important decisions. We are not a law firm, financial adviser, travel agency or medical provider.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Sparxnovate B.V., Sparxnovate LLC, nor their directors, employees or affiliates will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of CombDesk. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars if you used the free tier.

8. CombDesk Verify

CombDesk Verify provides business and individual verification intelligence drawn from lawful sources. It is not a surveillance service, legal advice, or a guarantee that a record is complete or current. Individual checks require a lawful purpose and consent where required. Membership requires identity verification, payment confirmation and human approval. We may reject or suspend access to protect people, organisations, the service or the public.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Sparxnovate B.V., Sparxnovate LLC and their representatives from any claims, damages, liabilities and expenses arising from your use of CombDesk, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination and suspension

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or harms the service. You may delete your account at any time; deletion will remove your saved history and shared snapshots in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands with respect to Sparxnovate B.V. and the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, with respect to Sparxnovate LLC, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes should first be addressed through the contact channel provided on combdesk.com.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page shows the current version. Continued use of CombDesk after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
